‘Discordant applied Analogy’© – Iru ya to si Iru

I started responding to this Facebook Post on Facebook, but decided to transfer it into a Blog in case I ran out of Words in copying its Contents onto LinkedIn. Besides, I had become lazy lately in writing Blogs in view of the more robust presentation opportunities the Blog offers me for publishing. You see; I was running away from some little ‘intellectual Extensions’©, and the Effort of publishing another Photo of myself.  I am not educated enough to accomplish inserting Images on Facebook Post. Actually, it is Distraction for me to learn how to.

‘Communicating out of Point’©

The Uploader of the Post I am responding to has used a Western Image to make a Point, but using this Image disappoints the Substance he was trying to deliver. In the West, i.e., in the United Kingdom (UK) where I live, we get given (a) Opportunities to develop Ourselves, and our Children, and (b) financial Assistance when we have no Job or are on low Income. Read the following.

1.      Free Primary School, and Secondary School Educations whether poor or rich, and up to Age 18/19. Free School Meals for “early years,” free School Meals in Primary Schools for Children from confirmed poor Homes, and financial Assistance for University Students from poor Backgrounds or Persons of poor Means. For instance, the substantial Part of my bachelor’s degree was paid for by UK Taxpayers. I started with paying for myself, but I got kicked out of my Job for reporting Fraud at Work in my second Year of part-time Study. My Complaint was buried. UK Taxpayers would also have paid for my PhD Study had I the Sense to have discarded the ‘kill Ambition Nigerian Citizenship’© I was lugging around at the time. One of the Universities offering me PhD Study put me forward for funding, but the UK “Economic and Social Research Council” (ESRC), responsible for my Area of Study, would not fund non-UK Citizens. Why should it if I was imbecilic enough to hold onto a Citizenship “Nigerian,” I was not born into, but imposed upon retrospectively? The other University denied it ever made me an Offer of a Bursary, probably realising after proposing the Bursary Offer that the ESRC would not fund it due to the ‘Nigerian Albatross Citizenship’© I wrapped around my Neck.

It was not that “Nigerian” was even then worthy of Pride. I think it was my ‘Village Person’© who corroded my Consciousness then.  Although I was born a “Citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies” (CUKC) – as were all born before 1 October 1960 in that Wretchedness called Nigeria – the British Nationality Act 1981, Handiwork of the Labour Party, yanked that Birth-right from me. There was a Nigerian Education Office in Queensway, London, UK at the time. Its Director – cannot rightly recall the title – was an affable Yoruba Man, a Professor. He sympathetically apprised me that all that Office was doing was evaluating Nigeria’s University degrees for UK Universities, as if UK Universities were not already doing that themselves. The Office was just a “cushy number” for the Professor; another wealthy Person being created through Abuse of Nigeria’s Resources. Overseas Appointments for Nigerians were another Gateway for embezzling the Nigerian Public Purse. The Professor’s Sympathy was like the Rat or Mouse eating the Skin off my Toes, and blowing Air on them at the same time. That Sympathy was ‘unabashedly dishonest’©. The Affability was genuine, though. If that Professor cared, in the least, he would not have accepted the Job from the Nigerian Government knowing fully well the Office served no ‘People useful Purpose’© aka ‘Citizen useful Purpose’©.

The Nigerian Citizenship damaged my Chances of PhD Study Sponsorship. I tried other Sources, but I held that ‘Nigerian ruinous Citizenship’© (‘ruinous Citizenship’©, per se) while residing permanently in the West. It did not go well with Western Funders. I did not fit into their ‘African Student Charity Alleviation Logic’©. There evaporated my Likelihood of ever holding an academic Research Degree not to talk of the PhD because I held on to the ‘worthless Citizenship of Nigerian’© – not “Citizenship of Nigeria” – foisted on me retrospectively instead of intelligently reclaiming my Birth Citizenship of the UK, as soon as I was able. I cried, actually shed Tears, frequently for Weeks, and intermittently for Months. It was hard getting those Offers; I prepared my Research Proposal myself, with no Assistance from anyone. I presented 500 Words, 1,000 Words, and 1,500 Words’ Proposals depending on the Length required by the particular University, and my Dream was dashed because I voluntarily held the Citizenship of ‘Manufactured Despondency Nigeria’©. I resolved, therefore, to discard the ‘Nigerian backward Citizenship’© (‘backward Citizenship’©, per se). After all, it was not my Citizenship at Birth. Nigeria did not even exist as a Territorial-State when I was born. It was a UK Colony.

I kept applying for PhD Study knowing fully well that without Bursary Assistance further Offers would be meaningless. Eventually, the University of Aberdeen gave me Inlet into a Research Degree with the Offer of Master of Literature (MLitt); one-year full time or part-time equivalent solely Research Degree, but equivalent to the taught Magister, the MA – not Cambridge or Oxford Universities for their MA is honorary only upon their BA – and MSc. However, I was intent on “contributing new knowledge to existing knowledge.” The University awarded me the Master of Philosophy (MPhil)(PhM) Degree; the “significant new contribution to existing knowledge.” The University of own Accord published my Dissertation, and it knows, as I do, why it denied me the Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil)(PhD) Degree; the “substantial new contribution to existing knowledge.” Well, the ‘European God of the Bible’© habitually favours the avaricious, dishonest, fraudulent, et cetera. I refer to, i.e., Jacob stealing Esau’s Glory, David murdering Uriah to possess Uriah’s Wife. In Modern Times, we can look at Donald J. Trump Sr of the United States of America and/or Godswill Akpabio of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

2.      Benefits for Housing, Feeding, and every other thing the employed Person enjoys.

3.      Disability Payments, and some are “non-means tested,” that is, you get them whether poor or rich unless the rich do(es) not want them.

4.      Free Bus Pass (according to Age) in all the four Nations of the UK. I understand that the Bus Pass in the Nation of Northern Ireland is even better. It is the only Nation in the UK I have not lived in.

5.      Free Health Care – medical Care, including Primary Care, and Hospital Care, Physiotherapy, inter alia, in all our four Nations with prescribed Medicines free for all in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, but in England “selectively free” for certain  Categories. Our dental Care comprises Alternatives of free, paid, and subsidised.

In uploading the Image of an ‘Occidental-Caucasian’© (“white”) Beggar to support his Claim, the Post’s Uploader made an “implied comparison” (IC) I have determined as ‘discordant implied Analogy’© (‘implied Analogy’©, per se) of the Assertion he made. Whether or not his Assertion has Merit is not the Issue, but his IC is Disinformation. It is discordant if I wish to be generous to his Misinformation.

The Uploader should learn about implied messaging, so that he does not continue to fall foul of making Claims he is not au fait with. My Advice goes to all like him who do not appreciate the “Nuances of Communication,” including Communication originating from themselves. If the Uploader had used an Image of an African Beggar, I would not have responded to his Claim, as I have. I, most probably, would have supported him with quite strong Argument. That Occidental-Caucasian Beggar in his Image has a personal Story he had not bothered to find out about. Social Media Commentators should learn to understand not to compare Iru (Locust Bean) with Iru (Tail).

In a Nutshell, many do not understand the “Art of Communicating.” It is not just about the solid Grasp or not of the choice of ‘textual Language of Expression’©, it is also about the Images deployed. In both ‘textual Expression(s)’©, and pictorial Symbols reside the Communicator’s ‘Nuances of Expression(s)’©. Majority of Commentators are not aware of these “Fundamentals of Communication,” especially in this Age of Social Media when all have something to let out, but introduce Images at random to accompany what it is they remark upon. It is not always that there is implied messaging in Communication, but a Communicator must be aware of its Presence if the Communication is thought through or is not some Plagiarisation. Otherwise, it could be implicitly making Claims the Commentators are inevitably disoriented with.

Here are Images regarding one of my two direct Offers for/to PhD Study. I am not sure if I ever photographed the other Offer, but its hardcopy is here, somewhere, in my littered Home. I have included these Images in case some disrespectful Persons are doubting my PhD Offers because they are not, themselves, able©.
