The Racism of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom

Introduction

Titling this Essay was a little difficult. I initially came up with the Title of ‘The Racism of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom: where are you talking from?’ I then changed it to ‘United Kingdom: the Conservative Party is racist, yea or nay, my Experience’. I was not satisfied with these titlings despite my believing that either titling is catchy enough. However, I really do want a Read of this Essay so I went for ‘The Racism of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom’. It is very catchy, at least in my Opinion. It is also quite misleading as to the Sentiment of the Essay. This titling suggests I would be evidencing the Racism of the Conservative Party, per se whereas that is not the Purpose of the Essay. However, the important Thing is to attract Traction, after all, the Essay does discuss the alleged Racism of the Conservative Party.

 

Is Racism homogeneous to a Group?

What is Racism? Before we can define Racism we have to recognize its Precursor. This Antecedent is self-evident but it has been construed interchangeably with Racism in the ‘Regurgitation of first Statements’© By the ‘Regurgitation of first Statements’, I mean that Someone makes a Claim and that Claim is perpetuated and propagated without Evaluation of its Validity except for continuing padding of that Claim. The Precursor to ‘Racism’ is ‘Racialism’. Racialism is the ‘Emotionality of superior Race’© that is no more than the delusional Sense of racial Supremacy of one Race over another. Racialism has two Sides to it; it can be harmless except where Victims have low Self-Esteem or it can be violent, what I have described elsewhere as ‘primordial Animal Violence’© Racialism transmits into Racism where the Perpetrator has Power to affect the Lives of Victims in negative Ways such as Interference with Accommodation, Education, Fairness, Health, Livelihood, et cetera. I have christened this elsewhere as ‘Racialism with Power’© Racism is when Racialism harms the Existence of Victims.

What is a Group. ‘Group’ is a “given” in Meaning. This is that when we use the Expression “Group,” we know what is meant. It is a common Understanding that also lends itself to the intellectual reasoning that enables me to define “Group,” as ‘Collection of Similarities’© For example, a Country is a Group because its Citizens are coalesced around the ‘Identity of belonging’© The fundamental Explanation of “Group,” actually, is this ‘Identity of belonging’.

I am writing this Essay because I have heard, and have been engaged in much Talk about the ‘Racism of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom’, and have decided to put down in Writing my personal Experience for Posterity. This Experience is of my Attempts in ‘Career-Politics’©. The Conservative Party is also known as the ‘Tory Party.’ If you notice any Change in my Style of writing, it is intentional.

The general Picture of my Attempts at ‘Career-Politics’  

I wanted to seat in the UK House of Commons in 2005 as the Green Party Candidate for Hackney South and Shoreditch. I was rejected at the Polls. I tried to seek to contest in the following Round through the Conservative Party, but I was not even allowed a Foot in the Door even though I am a natural Tory. Stop; do not say “I told you. The Labour Party is our Home.” You are in Dreamland, I rejoin. I consider the Labour Party more racist than the Conservative Party, factually and historically. The first Immigration Act (1948) was by the Labour Party. The ‘British Nationality Act 1981’ (1983 Commencement) was the Brainchild of the Labour Party. These two are just Examples. The Conservative Party is a “broad Church,” Kenneth Clark and Co always said. Before my Attempt at the House of Commons, I tried for a Local Authority (LA) – also called ‘Council’ – Seat with the Conservative Party. I was actively campaigned against by an abnormally powerful Member who had consensual Validation within the local Association. However, and this is weird; before my LA Attempt with the Tories, I was a Member of the Liberal Democrats (LD) which unanimously voted me onto the local Executive, and also without Exception selected me to replace a Councillor who had resigned and who had nominated me to replace him on his very safe Seat. I declined. I gave Reasons but found out later that my Reasons had no Bases. I suppose, as some Africans would say, it was my “Village People after me.” Did you laugh there? Good. Importantly, I do not remember any Member of the LD who was not ‘white’ except me.

At the UK Conservative (Tory) Party

At my first Association in Haringey I would be lying if I say I encountered Racism (‘Racialism with Harm’©) or Racialism (‘Bigotry of Race’©). It was at my second Association in Hackney that I was confronted by the absolute Racism of the Coward with abnormal Power already mentioned above. I say ‘abnormal Power’ because he was not an Officer on the Executive of our local Party. We did not say ‘Party’, but ‘Association’. I can no longer remember if I was on the Executive (I was, most likely). An Aspect of his Racialism towards me, that turned into his Racism of blocking me for contest for a Council Seat is that he wished my Names were not ‘Ipemndoh dan Iyan’. In his twisted, but also uneducated thinking, I could not win a Council Seat in Hackney, London, with those Names. Notice how he decided by himself how “the People” would vote, and on what Basis they would vote? He would have been satisfied if I carried around Names like ‘Eric Williams’; Relics, Residuals, and Vestiges of my Slave Status and my Dehumanisation –Dehumanization – when Chains shackled my Legs, Neck, and Wrists with Whips lashing me on. Unfortunately for lowlifes like him, I have always been a ‘conscious African’© even when not as well academically educated as I was during our Encounter, and as I am now. I was never brought up to hold ‘white’ Folks in Awe. My first Encounter with a ‘white’ Person was with my Mother’s Mother (maternal grandmother). It was in the early 1960s, and I remember him well, even now. He came every day to her Shop on his black Peugeot Mobylette (low powered auto bike) that you had to pedal to start, and perhaps could also ride as a Bicycle if I recall this correctly. He had a little Pouch, but was not really fat. He wore a white Shirt, and cream or white Trousers all the time. I think he was a ‘Thrift Collector’© of sorts, but I cannot recollect if I saw my Grandmother give him Money. He would stay a long while chatting and laughing with her in her Pidgin English. My next Encounter with ‘white’ Folks was at my “boarding House” Secondary Grammar School. There were two Men. They were not my Teachers, and I only saw them from the Distance. I think they were only around in my first Year. I did not know whether they had University Degrees, but I had African Teachers with University Degrees sharing the same Staff Room with them. For me, at the Time, they were all, at the minimum, Equals. So, ‘white’ Folks had never had any Spectacularity for me or with me.

In spite of this abnormally powerful cowardly racist, my Chairman, and Party Agent, both also ‘white’, were solidly behind me, but I lost the Selection to a ‘white’ Candidate who I never once saw at our weekly (or was it, monthly?) Meetings. He was never also there at our weekly (or was it monthly) canvassing over the Course of the one Year I had been attending before the Selection Exercise. He never attended or participated in the Association’s Necessities, needless to say. See, to ‘white’ Racists, the best by ‘the black’ can never surpass the worst from fellow ‘whites’. After the Selection Process, one of those who voted against me came to apologize, promising me “another time.” Notice how much Disrespect the ‘white’ Racist has for the Intelligence of the ‘black’? That Piece of Rubbish voted against me for a fellow ‘white’ who did not care to attend Meetings not to talk of canvassing for the Association over the Course of the Year compared to me. What would make “another time” different? I have lately (2024) come to recognize Racialists and Racists as ‘proto Homosapiens’©/’proto Human’© (intervening Stage before Evolution into Human). An essential Indicator of their ‘unevolved Cognition’© is the absolute Absence of the ‘Morality of Fairness’© in them. On Election Day, another visibly Racist Member – needless to say who voted against me – called me in Desperation to come out to assist in campaigning/canvassing for Votes for the Candidate she chose over me. See? Notice the lack of ‘Morality of Fairness’, this time allied with Proprietariness (another essential of Racism). Understand now, how the modern-Day Racist hallucinates that we are still in the Slavery Era when the African can be dominated in all Manners? I flatly refused. At the Meeting to discuss our miserable Performance at that local Council Election, the Hall was filled with Members, many on their Feet, all ‘white’ except for me. One of the ‘Racist Enforcers’© – another ‘white’ who voted against me at the Selection – of that abnormally powerful cowardly Racist was singing high Praises of him whingeing about our Failure to capture the Council, particularly in View of “his experience,” as he had planned and directed our Campaign. By the Way, the ‘white’ Candidate they parachuted over me lost the Ward abysmally, defeated by own Racism. If he were not racist himself, would he have accepted the Party Nomination knowing that I gave more Dedication and Time to the Party than he did? This failed ‘white’ Hope did not even have the Decency to attend our licking Wounds after Election Gathering. I had countered that the Coward was directly responsible for our “bitter Pill,” as he had no Experience, but ‘Familiarity with the Process’. The salivating Praise Singer, whose Seat I could have taken if I had accepted the Labour Party offered Support, insisted that I had insulted the Coward with that. She demanded of our Chair to rebuke me and to instruct me to apologise. My Chair replied that he recognised no Insult, but asked the Coward if he felt insulted by me. The Coward confirmed that I had not insulted him. After the Meeting, and on the huge Grounds of the Pub that hosted us, a ‘white’ male Bloke approached me. He was probably late 40s or early 50s. He asked me to survey the huge Crowd, and apprised me that they had all come out in Support of me having heard of what the Selection Panel did to me. He assured me that they had been ready to shred that Coward to Pieces, orally, had he uttered any Word against me at the Discussion, earlier. I knew he was genuine. I sensed he was utterly aghast that the cowardly Racist had assumed that he, and the many on the Grounds that Day, were racist as that cowardly Racist who engineered my non-Selection.

At the UK Green Party

The Racialism about my Names were directed at me at the Green Party too after I had been selected to run for the House of Commons in 2005. A slightly built prominent Lady career Politician compared my Names with an Asian Candidate’s standing for the Green Party in another London Constituency. She believed with his Asian Names (India Subcontinent) he had a better Chance at garnering Votes. If she is reading me right now, she knows herself. The Idiot even coughed straight into my Face/Mouth without covering her Mouth on that Occasion. Of course, she is ‘white’. I was standing in a Constituency where the Green Party had not fielded a Candidate in 12 Years. The Green Party itself had been resigned to kissing the “Election Deposit” “bye, bye.” I was some Game for a mixed-Race Guy within my Constituency’s Hierarchy. I had no dedicated Campaign Support, but for the Party Agent. He was solidly behind me. I believed I could win. I attended all Hustings. After the Husting at Rio Cinema for Seniors, one Conservative Party ‘white’ Senior Lady approached me to tell me that I had done very badly.

As I was climbing the outside Steps of Hackney Town Hall on the Night of the Election Count, I was approached by an elderly ‘white’ Lady. She informed me she had been at the Rio Cinema Husting, and that she too is a Politician and had stood in the Council Election of the same Day for the LD Party. She said that of all the Candidates who talked at the Husting; Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrats, et cetera, I was the only convincing One. She then wished me Luck at the Count. That was from a serving Politician from a different Party to mine who was standing for re-Election compared with that Conservative non-Politician Woman. I knew the Conservative Woman was being racialist anyway with sole Intention to undermine my Confidence. I had asked her many times to tell me what I did wrong so that I could be better prepared next time. She could not tell me a Thing. She probably never listened to a Word I said, but was rather fixated with her primitive Thought of why a “black” Man should dare to contest the UK House of Commons. That is the typical Racialist and/or Racist. S/he cannot tangibly and/or reasonably explain why s/he disapproves of “the other.” I had consistently smiled at her, but not from Friendliness, but from Pity at the low Cognition ‘white’ Folk attempting to minimise moi, Ipemndoh dan Iyan, who sat my MPhil/PhM viva voce only once before two PhD Holders, one a Professor, the other a Senior Reader, and both ‘white’. Racialists and Racists really do have small Brains.

I did not win my Bid to be Member of the House of Commons for Hackney South and Shoreditch in 2005, but as it were, I saved the Green Party’s Election Deposit in a Constituency the Party had not fielded a Candidate for 12 Years. This was despite the Royal Mail/Post Office not distributing 45,000 of my Election Leaflets in my Constituency, but wasting them in Diane Abbot’s Constituency. The Post Person could not read? Abbot is a Politician I would not have stood against even if I had lived in her Constituency of Hackney North and Stoke Newington. This is not because I could not win, anyway, but for my deep Respect for her despite her being of the Labour Party. I dealt with her when I was Chair of a Library Forum in her Constituency. When the Library was threatened with Shutdown, I contacted her. She intervened, and the Library stayed open. It is still open, as far as I know. Respect, Lady.

Even at the Count, there was no Green Party Support except for the nice Party Agent, ‘white’ Bloke. My Son spotted a female Vote Counter (‘white’) throwing my Vote in the Labour Party Box. When we challenged her, she claimed “it was a Mistake.” Even if we had reported to the Police, they would have accepted her Defence. It probably was an Error, but it could easily had not been one. With my Success at saving the Green Party “Election Deposit,” I became a Star. Could you imagine the Shame of that awful Green Party female Member who arrogantly surmised my Names would not win Votes? Her Asian favourite with the “nice name[s]” cost the Green Party the “Election Deposit” in his Constituency, and abysmally too. Did she come to apologize to me? Why should she? She is ‘white’, after all.

You understand or you do not?

Now, make up your Minds. Is the Conservative Party any more racist than the other Political Parties in the UK? Does it have more racialist Members than any other Political Party? Is Racialism not a personal ‘intellectual Failing’©, and Racism not the ‘individual Power Tool’© of that personal ‘intellectual Failing’? Can either Immorality severally or collectively not infiltrate a Group, contaminate that Group, and spread the Contamination insidiously or surreptitiously? For me, Racialism, and Racism are not homogeneous. There can be ‘Shared Racialism’© and ‘Collective Racism’© I do not accept any such Rubbish as “institutional racism” or “institutionalized racism” as today bastardised. I have read the original Formulation of the Concepts in 1966 by Stokely Carmichael who later became Kwame Ture . I have also read his Treatment of the Concepts in 1967 with Charles V Hamilton. Neither his original Formulation nor his Collaboration with Hamilton defined those Concepts in the ridiculous Manners in which they have now been revised. “Institutional racism” or “institutionalized racism” is best identified in Government Policies emanating from Laws. The Law is the Mechanism of, the Vehicle for, the institutionalization of Racism, and the Legislature is its Structure. Now, to identify if the Conservative Party or any political Party is racist, the applaudable Way is to assess their Policies and the Impacts of those Policies on “the Other.” It is not even an Appraisal to say that a Piece of Legislation is alarming or comforting. The Relevance of Legislation is in its Implementation hence its Impact.
